Brendan Rodgers has laughed off reported interest from Real Madrid in Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling.

The 19-year-old Reds forward has been linked with los Blancos in recent weeks after an eye-catching start to the season.

Sterling’s still got three years left on his contract, so there’s no rush from my side

Sterling has scored three goals and made one assist in five appearances in all competitions, including a man of the match performance in the League Cup on Tuesday.

Despite losing star man Luis Suarez to Barcelona in a £75m deal this summer, Rodgers isn’t concerned by Madrid’s reported interest.

“You could link Raheem with every club in the world at the moment. I sit easy with it,” Rodgers told his pre-match media conference.

“Sterling’s still got three years left on his contract, so there’s no rush from my side.”

Rodgers heaped praise on Liverpool youngster Suso after the AC Milan target scored in extra-time against Middlesbrough mid-week.

“I was really pleased with him. We sent him out to get games and experience,” Rodgers added.

Liverpool face Everton at Anfield on Saturday as the Reds look to end a two-game losing streak in the Premier League.
