Suso has backed Liverpool to start seeing results from their hard work on the training ground “sooner or later”.

The Reds limped to a 14-13 penalty shootout victory over Middlesbrough after a 2-2 in extra-time in the third round of the Capital One Cup at Anfield on Tuesday night.

The manager is working really well with us and sooner or later we will see the results

Liverpool have lost their last two Premier League games against Aston Villa and West Ham United ahead of a tough trip to Everton for the Merseyside derby on Saturday.

But Suso, who scored in the 109th minute in the League Cup clash, admitted that Liverpool are suffering from a lack of confidence after their disappointing top-flight results.

“Maybe we’re not having a comfortable week because of the last Premier League game and people weren’t too happy,” Suso told Liverpool’s website.

“But we know that we have the best supporters in the Premier League and the world. This win is very important because we went through.

“Liverpool have to be in all of the competitions and do well in every competition. The manager is working really well with us and sooner or later we will see the results.”
