Alberto Moreno is already looking forward to the “unique experience” of facing Real Madrid in the Champions League.

The Spain Under-21 international signed a long-term deal with the Reds after Liverpool agreed a £12m deal with Sevilla for the Europa League winner.

It’s all new for me and I’m really looking forward to it

After a disappointing debut, Moreno impressed against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday as the left-back scored a superb solo goal to help the visitors win 3-0 at White Hart Lane.

Moreno didn’t get the opportunity to taste Champions League football at Sevilla, and the 22-year-old is relishing the chance to face his former side’s rivals and holders Real Madrid at Anfield on 22 October.

“Playing in the Champions League is going to be amazing,” Moreno told Liverpool’s website. “It’s all new for me and I’m really looking forward to it.

“Plus, we have Real Madrid at Anfield and I’ll be wearing Liverpool’s colours… It’s going to be a unique experience.

“I saw the trophy at Melwood and I got goose bumps. Hopefully we can win it this year. Hopefully that day will come.”
