Loic Remy has no medical problem, says Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho
Jose Mourinho insists that he doesn't know why Loïc Remy failed his Liverpool medical before Chelsea move
Jose Mourinho admits that he doesn’t know why Loic Remy failed his Liverpool medical before his eventual transfer to Chelsea.
The France striker was on the verge of sealing a move to Anfield in July before the transfer fell through at the final hurdle.
I don’t know what the situation with Liverpool was
The 27-year-old then signed a four-year deal with Chelsea last month after the Blues agreed a £10.5m fee with Queens Park Rangers.
And Chelsea boss Mourinho says that he is not sure why the forward did not pass his Liverpool medical.
“The medical should be before the clubs and the players and the agents almost announce a ‘done deal’,” said Mourinho.
“If a player loses a medical, or fails a medical, it should be something very, very intimate, very personal between the player and the club.
“But the way almost every club does it, it looks like the medical is not any more a private situation.
“I don’t know what the situation with Liverpool was, we don’t have their report. Obviously, in this club, medical responsibilities start with Dr Biosca [medical director Paco Biosca].
“He did his job, not on his own, but he surrounded himself with opinions from top specialists in different areas, and the final conclusion was the same conclusion that the French Football Federation medical department had before the World Cup – the player has no problem.”
