Loic Remy has accused Liverpool of “not being very honest” after his proposed transfer to Anfield collapsed earlier this summer.

The France international was on the verge of completing a move to the Merseyside club in July before the transfer fell through at the last minute due to a medical issue.

And the 27-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Queens Park Rangers in a £10.5m deal last month, admits that he was bemused by the Reds’ decision not to sign him.

“I did not understand Liverpool’s decision,” Remy told the Sun. “It was not very honest from their side.

“I was not scared. I know exactly what I have, I met all the specialists in the world.”

On his move to Stamford Bridge, Remy added: “Chelsea is one of the best clubs in the world. I’m happy to have signed for a club like this.”
