Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli can't hide his delight as Manchester United suffer a surprise 5-3 loss to Leicester City

Liverpool may have been beaten at West Ham United yesteday, but Mario Balotelli was cheered up by Leicester City’s 5-3 win against rivals Manchester United on Sunday.

The Red Devils surged into an early 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Robin van Persie and Angel di Maria before Leonardo Ulloa halved the deficit in the 17th minute.

Ander Herrera appeared to have secured three points with his second strike in as many weeks in the 57th minute, however, David Nugent and Esteban Cambiasso had the home side level by 64-minute mark.

And Jamie Vardy and Ulloa scored inside the final 11 minutes to secure a famous eight-goal victory at King Power Stadium and condemn Louis van Gaal to his second Premier League defeat.

Liverpool striker Balotelli, who played his part in Raheem Sterling’s consolation goal at Upton Park, couldn’t hide his delight with Leicester’s win on Twitter.

The 24-year-old striker scored his first Liverpool goal in a 2-1 victory over Ludogorets in the Champions League at Anfield on Tuesday night.
