Radamel Falcao is excited by the prospect of forging a partnership with Manchester United’s club-record signing Angel di Maria.

The Colombia international completed a season-long loan move to United from Monaco on transfer deadline day on Monday, costing the 20-time English champions a reported £6m.

I love the way he plays, I really do. I’m excited to be a team-mate of his

Falcao joined United days after the Red Devils signed Argentina international Di Maria in a British record £59.7m deal from Real Madrid.

The 26-year-old winger scored and made two assists as Argentina were 4-2 winners against World Cup holders Germany in a friendly on Wednesday night.

And unsurprisingly, Falcao, who scored 11 goals in 20 Ligue 1 appearances for Monaco, admitted that he was a big fan of his fellow South American.

“Angel is a fantastic player,” Falcao said. “I love the way he plays, I really do. I’m excited to be a team-mate of his.”

Falcao has won the Europa League twice during his career, scoring the winner to help Porto lift the crown in 2011 before firing Atletico Madrid to glory in 2013.
