The Colombia international completed a dramatic deadline day move to the Red Devils on a season-long loan, costing the 20-time English champions a reported £6m.
He’s athletic, has spring and can finish with subtlety or smash the ball into the top corner
Falcao has scored 11 goals in 20 Ligue 1 appearances for Monaco after completing a big-money move to the cash-rich side from La Liga champions Atletico Madrid last season.
The 28-year-old South American netted 52 goals in 68 top-flight appearances for los Rojiblancos, helping Diego Simeone’s side win the Europa League crown in 2013.
And former Liverpool midfielder Redknapp ranks Falcao as world-class number nine, meaning Louis van Gaal may have to drop Juan Mata or Adnan Januzaj to accommodate the striker.
“He’s one of the best No 9s I’ve ever seen. His movement and ability to hold up the ball is phenomenal. Anyone who can keep Diego Costa out of the Atletico Madrid team must be special,” Redknapp told Daily Mail.
“As long as he’s fit after his cruciate-ligament injury, he will rip this league apart. He’s athletic, has spring and can finish with subtlety or smash the ball into the top corner.
“Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney might not be happy — Falcao’s United’s No 1 now. If Van Gaal plays 3-5-2, there will be so many unhappy players: where do Mata and Januzaj fit in? One thing is for sure — they have to get into the top four now they’ve spent all that money.”
