Cristiano Ronaldo has refused to rule out a return to Manchester United before the end of his career.

The Portugal international was linked with a return to Old Trafford last summer but eventually penned a new deal with Los Blancos back in September.

The Red Devils spent heavily in the summer transfer window, signing Ronaldo’s team-mate Angel di Maria in a British record £59.7m deal from Real Madrid.

And the 29-year-old Real Madrid forward has revealed that he would like to move back to the Red Devils in the future.

“I love Manchester,’ Ronaldo told the Daily Mail. “Everyone knows that — I have said it many times. Manchester is in my heart. I left many good friends there, the supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day.

“I am happy here in Real Madrid and have four more years, but in the future you never know because they treated me unbelievably there.

“I really did love being at Manchester United. Believe me, they will be a good team again. I’m sure of it. It is a great club.”

Ronaldo left United to join Real Madrid for a world-record £80m in 2009 after scoring 118 goals in 292 appearances.
