Louis van Gaal has made clear his intention to keep on adding to his Manchester United squad in January.

The Dutchman splashed out almost £150m on six new players during the summer transfer window, with striker Radamel Falcao the latest addition.

United have also broken the bank to sign Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid in a British record £59.7m deal.

And Van Gaal concedes that he would not have been able to spend so much money on transfers during his time in charge of Bayern Munich.

“At Bayern, [former president Uli] Hoeness would have stopped me,” Van Gaal told De Telegraaf.

“But do you know what United’s people do? They just keep buying.”

“They support me, they have trust in me. You can feel that. As a person, too.”

Van Gaal is still searching for his first win as United boss after three Premier League games.
