Man United transfers: Miguel Herrera backs Javier Hernandez’s Madrid move
Man United transfers: Mexico boss Miguel Herrera congratulates Javier Hernandez on Real Madrid move as striker nears switch
Miguel Herrera has described Javier Hernandez’s loan move to Real Madrid as a “huge opportunity” for the Manchester United striker.
Hernandez is reported to be on the brink of sealing a season-long loan switch to the Champions League holders after being deemed surplus to requirements at the 20-time English champions.
The Mexico international has struggled to secure a first-team place at Old Trafford since long-serving manager Sir Alex Ferguson called time on his decorated reign in May 2013.
Hernandez was out-of-favour under former United boss David Moyes, whilst the 26-year-old produced an abject display as the Red Devils suffered a 4-0 loss to MK Dons in the League Cup last week.
And Mexico manager Herrera, who guided his country to the World Cup last-16 before losing to Louis van Gaal’s Netherlands side, congratulated Hernandez on his prospective move to los Blancos.
“Arriving at Real Madrid is a huge opportunity for @ch14, to whom I wish the most success.”
Llegar al Real Madrid es una gran oportunidad para @CH14_ , a quien le deseo el mejor de los ¡exitos!

Hernandez has scored 37 goals in 102 Premier League appearances for United.
