Manchester United would cap an outstanding summer transfer window by signing Radamel Falcao, says Danny Higginbotham.

The Red Devils have been linked with a reported £11m loan move to sign Arsenal and Manchester City target Falcao to bolster their attacking line-up.

Arsene Wenger has been linked with the Colombia international after Olivier Grioud was sidelined for three to four months following a broken foot.

The Citizens are reported to be reigning up a move for the 28-year-old striker amid speculation Alvaro Negredo is set to join Valencia on loan.

And former Southampton defender Higginbotham feels Falcao would be a welcome addition alongside summer signings Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind.

“If Manchester United sign Falcao this transfer window will of been an outstanding one for them. I’m sure there will be plenty leaving to,” Higginbotham posted on Twitter.

Higginbotham added: “Got to love transfer deadline day. The more desperate the club the busier they are. Makes for great viewing.”
