Man United transfers: ‘Radamel Falcao would have been ideal for Arsenal’
Man United transfers: Niall Quinn says he could see Radamel Falcao slotting into Arsenal side as striker nears Red Devils move
Radamel Falcao would have been an ideal signing for Arsenal, according to Niall Quinn.
The Colombia international appears to be on the brink of sealing an £11m loan move to Manchester United on transfer deadline day.
I’m sure Arsenal fans will be very disappointed hearing that news. Especially when it was a year loan, it wouldn’t have broken the bank to get him there
Arsenal and Manchester City were reported to be vying for the 28-year-old’s signature over the past week following Olivier Giroud’s injury blow.
The Gunners saw former target Loic Remy complete an £8.5m move to Chelsea on Sunday, and Arsene Wenger looks set to miss out on Falcao, too.
And former Gunners striker Quinn reckons the Arsenal manager must have decided that Falcao wasn’t the solution to his striker woes.
“You can see him in an Arsenal team,” Quinn told Sky Sports News.
“I’m sure Arsenal fans will be very disappointed hearing that news. Especially when it was a year loan, it wouldn’t have broken the bank to get him there.
“But if Arsene didn’t want him, he didn’t want him.
“He goes to Manchester United who are in a tougher situation. They are without Champions League football and are yet to get going this year.”
