Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign Radamel Falcao from Monaco in a £51.3m deal, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish newspaper AS is claiming that the Red Devils have snapped up the striker in a €65m deal, with the forward set to pen a four-year contract at Old Trafford.

The Monaco striker’s future has been a source of relentless speculation this summer, with Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid all touted as possible destinations for the 28-year-old.

It was initially understood that Falcao was seeking a loan move away from the French club for this season.

However, the striker is now set to move to Old Trafford on a permanent deal, if the latest reports from Spain are to be believed.

Falcao appeared to indicated that he was set to join Real Madrid over the weekend when he apparently deleted a tweet declaring that he was set to join Los Blancos.
