Phil Neville believes Manchester United will have bounced back from their difficult start to life under Louis van Gaal by Christmas.

The Red Devils have picked up just five points from their opening five league games since the Dutchman took charge at Old Trafford in the summer.

United’s stuttering form has raised questions about whether they will be able to break back into the top four this season.

However, former United defender Neville is certain that Van Gaal’s side will be back in the top four by December.

Neville was asked in a Twitter Q&A: “Where according to you will united stand on Boxing Day,” to which he replied: “In the top 4.”
