Mourinho gives latest Chelsea injury update ahead of Schalke clash
Jose Mourinho has no fresh injury concerns ahead of Chelsea's Champions League clash with Schalke
Chelsea have no fresh injury concerns ahead of their Champions League opener against Schalke, Jose Mourinho has confirmed.
Veteran striker Didier Drogba sat out Saturday’s 4-2 win over Swansea City due to injury but trained with his team-mates ahead of Wednesday’s clash at Stamford Bridge.
And Mourinho has confirmed that the whole of his squad are available to face the Bundesliga side.
“They [Schalke] drew against Bayern Munich, obviously they lost their last match 4-1 but I don’t see that as a drama or having a consequence in the Champions League,” said Mourinho, whose side reached the semi-finals of last season’s competition.
“In this moment it is a short competition of four teams for us, six matches. Everything is different.
“I don’t see a relation between the fact they lost the last match. Probably it will make them stronger. Probably they can discuss the mistakes they made, they can try to have a different approach to be a better team and a difficult opponent.”
