Nicklas Bendtner has revealed his frustration at having “wasted” a season at Arsenal last term.

The Denmark striker returned to Emirates Stadium last summer after having spent the previous campaign on loan in Serie A with Juventus.

I wasted a year there. That annoys me the most

Bendtner scored two goals in a total of 14 games for Arsene Wenger’s side last season after failing to net in 11 games for Juve in 2012-13.

The 26-year-old has since sealed a move to Wolfsburg on a three-year deal and appears happy to have left the Gunners.

“I was loaned to Juve. It went well there. I played regularly, and I was fit,” Bendtner told German newspaper Bild.

“We were champions, I wanted to stay. But Arsenal took me back. I barely played.

“I wasted a year there. That annoys me the most.”
