Alberto Moreno has expressed his delight with his Champions League debut and three important points after a 2-1 victory over Ludogorets on Tuesday.

The home side made the breakthrough against their Bulgarian opponents in the 82nd minute as striker Mario Balotelli scored his first Reds goal.

Happy with my debut in the Champions League and especially for these 3 important points

However, Ludogorets levelled in the 90th minute through forward Paulos Dani Abalo, leaving the Reds contemplating two dropped points at Anfield.

But Steven Gerrard rescued the home side with an emphatic winner from the penalty spot deep into stoppage time, sealing a 2-1 victory in Group B.

And Moreno, who moved to Liverpool from Sevilla in a £12m deal this summer, was thrilled to make his Champions League debut a winning one.

“Happy with my debut in the Champions League and especially for these 3 important points,” Moreno posted on Instagram. “Come on Liverpool FC !! #LiverpoolFC #championsleague #anfield #happy”

Moreno provided the assist for Balotelli’s first Champions League goal on Tuesday night.
