He may be a long-term Arsenal target, but Schalke forward Julian Draxler left London with a Chelsea shirt on Wednesday night.
The 20-year-old forward was one of the Bundesliga outfit’s standout performers as Jens Keller’s men secured a 1-1 draw with their Champions League Group G opponents at Stamford Bridge.
Netherlands international Klaas-Jan Huntelaar cancelled out Cesc Fabregas’s 11th-minute opener in the second half to leave Jose Mourinho’s side bottom of their group.
And Draxler, who has been regularly linked with Arsenal over the past 12 months, swapped shirts with Chelsea legend Didier Drogba following the full-time whistle.
Draxler was one of the main talking points from the stalemate on Wednesday as the Germany international caused the Chelsea defence plenty of problems.
And the Schalke forward showcased his superb skill in the second half as he helped the German side play the ball out of defence with a sublime pirouette.
