Cesc Fabregas has declared that he is ready for Chelsea’s Champions League opener against Schalke at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

The Spain international is yet to make his European debut in a Chelsea shirt following his £27m move to the west London side from Barcelona.

The 26-year-old has effortlessly slotted into the Blues side, becoming an integral part of Jose Mourinho’s side after returning to England.

The former Arsenal captain has already made six assists in four Premier League appearances, rivalling the impact of his compatriot Diego Costa.

And Fabregas, who was part of the Arsenal side that lost the Champions League final in 2006, warned Schalke that the Blues are ready for their clash.

“Ready for tomorrow,” Fabregas posted on Instagram.

Fabregas has scored 22 goals and made 21 assists in 82 European appearances during spells with Arsenal and Barcelona.

Chelsea were 3-0 winners against Schalke in the Champions League group stage last season thanks to Samuel Eto’o’s brace and Demba Ba’s strike.
