Daniel Sturridge admits that he “can’t wait” to be back playing for Liverpool again as he continues his recovery from injury.

The striker has not featured for the Reds since picking up a thigh problem while on international duty with England at the start of September.

And the 25-year-old forward is understandably looking forward to making his return to action in the coming weeks.

Sturridge posted the picture above of some fan art on Instagram and wrote: “Great work by this guy @lfc_paintings. Can’t wait to be fit again and Doing the dance!! #redordead.”

Sturridge scored 21 goals in 29 Premier League appearances last season as the Reds finished second in the Premier League table.

Liverpool are hopeful that the striker may be available for selection for Saturday’s Merseyside derby clash against Everton at Anfield.
