Daniel Sturridge is drawing inspiration from Arsenal icon Thierry Henry and Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler as he continues to work towards a return from injury.

The 24-year-old striker hasn’t featured for the Reds since a 3-0 victory at Tottenham Hotspur last month after picking up a thigh injury on England duty.

Liverpool have missed their prolific striker after back-to-back Premier League defeats and unimpressive wins in the Champions League and Capital One Cup.

And Sturridge paid tribute to Arsenal duo Henry and Dennis Bergkamp, Fowler, Brazil legend Ronaldo and ex-Newcastle United striker Faustino Asprilla on Instagram.

“Long live the idols…. Fowler, bergkamp, asprilla, Ronaldo,Henry,” Sturridge posted on Instagram.

On Wednesday, Sturridge admitted that he couldn’t wait to be fit and scoring goals for the Reds again.

“Great work by this guy @lfc_paintings. Can’t wait to be fit again and Doing the dance!! #redordead.”

Sturridge scored 21 goals in 29 Premier League games last season.
