Ross Barkley appears to be drawing inspiration from Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane during the Everton midfielder’s injury lay-off.

The 20-year-old England international is sidelined with a medial knee injury, meaning Barkley is yet to feature in the Premier League this term.

Everton have struggled in the absence of Barkley over the past week, losing 3-0 to Swansea City in the League Cup on Tuesday night.

And Barkley posted a photo of quote from los Blancos legend Zidane as the Toffees youngster continues his recovery from injury.

Barkley posted: “Quote at training today from #zizou”

The England youngster scored seven goals in 38 appearances in all competitions last season.

Barkley signed a four-year deal with the Merseyside outfit in the summer amid interest from Chelsea and Manchester City.
