Phil Jagielka reveals his delight at helping Everton earn a point in Saturday's Merseyside derby

Phil Jagielka has revealed his delight at scoring Everton’s equaliser to earn his side a dramatic draw at Liverpool in Saturday’s Merseyside derby.

Steven Gerrard gave the home side a second-half lead at Anfield when he scored from a free-kick in the 65th minute.

However, Jagielka earned the Toffees a point when he rifled home a sensational shot in the 90th minute to delight the travelling fans.

Jagielka shared the photo above on his Instagram account after an entertaining game ended all square.

He wrote: “Happy to have scored my 1st goal in a while! Great team effort today! #COYB”

The draw left Liverpool 12th in the Premier League table with seven points from their opening six games, while Everton were 13th with six.
