Daniel Sturridge has been sent for a scan after the Liverpool striker reportedly picked up an injury during England training on Friday.

According to the BBC, the 25-year-old forward will be assessed by England’s medical staff after picking up a knock at St George’s Park training facility.

Sturridge was one of England’s bright sparks alongside Reds team-mate Raheem Sterling as Roy Hodgson’s side were 1-0 winners against Norway on Wednesday.

The Three Lions start their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign with a potentially tricky trip to Switzerland on Monday night, looking to improve on their World Cup showing.

And losing Sturridge would be a blow to Hodgson’s plans after captain Wayne Rooney struggled against Norway despite the Manchester United striker’s second-half winner from the spot.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will be concerned by news of Sturridge’s injury, too, after the former Chelsea forward scored 21 goals in 29 Premier League appearances last season.

Here is a selection of Sturridge-dominated photos from England’s training session on Friday.
