Emre Can is hoping to be back in action “soon” as the Liverpool midfielder continues his recovery from an ankle injury.

The 20-year-old was pictured leaving the Reds’ Melwood training ground on crutches on Monday after suffering the problem on international duty with the German Under 21s last week.

Can, who joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen over the summer, posted the picture above on Instagram and wrote: “I’m soon back!!! #ynwa #liverpool”

The midfielder is set to be out of action for up to six weeks, according to reports.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are gearing up for their return to Champions League football when they host Ludogorets Razgrad at Anfield on Tuesday night.

The Reds, who slumped to a surprise 1-0 loss to Aston Villa on Saturday, have not played in Europe’s elite club competition for five years.
