Manchester United’s players refused to be downbeat about their absence from this season’s Champions League as they enjoyed a meal together on Tuesday night.

With some of Europe’s top clubs in action, Juan Mata, Adnan Januzaj, Ander Herrera, Angel Di Maria, Antonio Valencia, Rafael Da Silva, Marcos Rojo and David De Gea were among the attendees.

Summer signing Rojo posted the picture above on Instagram and wrote: “Night dinner with the team !!”

Meanwhile, Rafael shared the photo below and added: “@marcosrojo @antoniovalencia2525 dinner time.”

The Red Devils will find their midweek games few and far between this season after their failure to qualify for this season’s Champions League following last term’s seventh-place finish.

Louis van Gaal’s side also suffered an early exit in the League Cup after a humiliating 4-0 loss to MK Dons in the second round.
