Roger Federer appeared to be in a philosophical mood after his four-set win over Marcel Granollers at the US Open.

The 17-times Grand Slam winner sealed a 4-6 6-1 6-1 6-1 victory over his Spanish opponent to book his place in the last 16 in New York on Sunday night.

And soon after his victory, the 33-year-old took to his new Instagram account to post the artistic picture above.

Federer wrote: “Took this after my match tonight @usopen. Wonder where the road will take me next. I guess I’ll just follow coach Seve and see :)”

Federer has been making the most of his new Instagram account in recent days. He already has over 150,000 followers after joining the photo-sharing site last Tuesday.

He also gave a special mention to his Japanese fans following his third-round win, posting the picture below and writing: “Shout out to my Japanese fans.. Did an interview earlier with the #WOWOW channel”
