Arsenal may have missed out on three points after a 2-2 draw with Manchester City, but Samuel L. Jackson managed to cheer up Lukas Podolski at The Emirates.

Martin Demichelis scored a late equaliser after brilliant goals from Jack Wilshere and Alexis Sanchez had cancelled out Sergio Aguero’s opener in Saturday’s early kick-off.

Podolski didn’t get the opportunity to prevent the Gunners succumbing to a third successive Premier League stalemate as Arsene Wenger opted against calling on the German’s services.

But the 29-year-old, who was linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer, could take comfort from a chance meeting with Hollywood star Jackson at Emirates Stadium after the big Premier League clash.

“Good game today, shame we didn’t get the 3 points,” Podolski posted on Instagram.

“Time to get ready for Tuesdays match! By the way, what a surprise, thanks Samuel L. Jackson for the visit!”

Podolski will hope to play a part in Arsenal’s opening Champions League group-stage game against Borussia Dortmund in his native Germany on Tuesday night.
