Shinji Kagawa took to his Instagram account on Monday to pay tribute to Manchester United after he rejoined Borussia Dortmund last week.

The Japan international failed to hold down a regular starting spot at Old Trafford after joining the Red Devils back in 2012.

Kagawa posted a picture of himself with the Premier League trophy and wrote: “Thanks everyone!! I could have a precious experience. I really appreciate it to all my supporters. Thank you Manchester United!! Good luck!!”

Kagawa, who has 58 Japan caps to his name, signed a four-year deal with Dortmund, whom he played for from 2010 to 2012.

The 25-year-old scored six goals in 57 appearances for United and won the 2012–13 Premier League title with them under Sir Alex Ferguson.

In his previous spell with Dortmund, Kagawa made 61 appearances, scoring 24 goals.
