Stevan Jovetic admits he “can’t wait” to return to action for Manchester City after his spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Jovetic sat out last Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Etihad Stadium as he continues his recovery from the problem.

The 24-year-old posted the picture above on Instagram and wrote: “Can’t wait to get back on the pitch!”

The Montenegrin is now nearing a return to action and could feature against Hull City in the Premier League next weekend.

“Stevan will maybe be ready but if he cannot play on Saturday he will be ready for Tuesday [against Roma in the Champions League],” said City boss Manuel Pellegrini this week.

Jovetic had scored two goals in three games for City before suffering the injury setback.
