Thibaut Courtois has revealed his delight after signing a new five-year contract with Chelsea.

The 22-year-old has replaced Petr Cech as the west London club’s number one goalkeeper after returning from his loan spell at Atletico Madrid this summer.

Courtois posted the picture above on Instagram and wrote: “Happy with my new 5-year contract ! Thanks everybody for the messages! #cfc”

The Belgium international, who has played in all three of Chelsea’s Premier League games this season, added: “I’m very happy with this new deal, it’s really nice to have signed this new contract for five years.

‘My future was already sorted but it’s nice to know I’m going to be here for another five years and now I can just concentrate on playing games.”

Courtois helped Atletico Madrid win the La Liga title in Spain last season.
