Erik Lamela is celebrating Argentina’s 4-2 win over World Cup winners Germany with a relaxing weekend in Ibiza.

The Tottenham Hotspur playmaker scored his country’s second goal with a delightful cushioned finish as Argentina gained some revenge for their World Cup final defeat in Wednesday’s friendly.

Lamela posted the picture above on Instagram, and wrote: “Enjoying the weekend with the boys in Ibiza.”

The 22-year-old midfielder looks to have already improved significantly on a disappointing injury-hit first season at White Hart Lane.

Lamela, who joined Spurs from Roma in a £30m deal last summer, has notched up two assists in three Premier League games for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

Speaking last week, Lamela vowed to step his game up for the Lilywhites this season.

“Last season was complicated for me because of injury, but I feel good now,” he said. “And I have to thank Tottenham for their help and patience – they have always shown faith in me.

“Now I am on the right path and I want to impose myself in the Premier League.”
