Jose Enrique has handed Liverpool a boost ahead of Saturday’s clash with Queens Park Rangers after he posted pictures of himself looking in good shape in training.

The 28-year-old was sidelined for most of last season with a serious knee problem and was limited to just eight appearances in all competitions for Brendan Rodgers’ men.

Enrique made his return to action when he came on as a substitute in the 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur last month.

And the Spaniard looked in good spirits as he trained alongside new signing Alberto Moreno, who he will be competing with for a starting spot in Rodgers’ side.

Enrique posted two pictures on Instagram of Tuesday’s session, with the message: “From yesterday training”.

The left-back is determined to earn back his place in Rodgers’ side after his spell on the sidelines.

“It is true what they say in life, when something happens to you, you appreciate things more. That’s what’s happened to me,” Enrique told Liverpool’s website.
