Angel Di Maria was the star of the show as Argentina gained some revenge for their World Cup final defeat by thrashing Germany 4-2 in Wednesday’s friendly.
The Manchester United new-boy assisted three and scored one as the visitors ran riot at the ESPRIT arena in Düsseldorf.
Argentina took the lead when Sergio Agüero scored from close range in the 20th minute.
Di Maria was the provider again in the 40th minute when he set up Erik Lamela, who expertly guided his shot into the top left corner.
The £57.9m signing then set up Federico Fernández, who headed into the bottom corner, before the United man got himself on the score-sheet with a left-footed shot in the 50th minute.
Germany halved the deficit thanks to second-half goals from Andre Schürrle and Mario Götze but there was no doubting who the night belonged to.
Here are some of the best pictures from Di Maria’s stunning performance as Germany tasted defeat for the first time in 19 games.
