Andros Townsend cold feature for Tottenham Hotspur against Nottingham Forest, Mauricio Pochettino has revealed.

The winger sat out the surprise 1-0 defeat by West Bromwich Albion at the weekend due to a dead leg but is in contention for Wednesday’s League Cup third-round clash.

Pochettino also confirmed that the north London club have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the cup tie.

“Andros is fully fit and maybe has an opportunity to play,” said Pochettino, who also confirmed that Kyle Walker remains sidelined. “Everyone else is OK, the squad is fit.”

Pochettino admitted that Tottenham’s tempo was not good enough during the surprise loss to the Baggies at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

He said: “In football you need to play quickly because the opponents sometimes, like West Brom [did], play a bit deeper. You have to try to recover the ball and be aggressive in offensive situations.”
