Radamel Falcao is confident that his goals will help fire Manchester United back into next season’s Champions League.

The Colombia striker has joined the Red Devils on a season-long loan deal from Monaco and could seal a permanent switch to United next summer.

And the 28-year-old is determined to help Louis van Gaal’s men seal a return to Europe’s elite club competition.

“Every player wants to play in the Champions League,” said Falcao on Thursday. “This year’s it’s not possible, but we have confidence to achieve qualification fort next season’s Champions League.”

The striker, who missed the second half of last season due to a serious knee injury, insists that he is feeling in top shape.

He continued: “I started to play two months ago with Monaco, I improved in the last couple of months, I have scored goals and I am confident with my physical form and I am comfortable with my knee.

“I feel very good in myself, I am very happy to be here. When you talk about a settling in period, when you are surrounded by quality players it makes any settling in period a lot easier.

“Manchester United has very good players and that reason makes it easier to play football. I am used to life in cities like this. I don’t think I will have an adaptation problem.”
