Scholes: Van Gaal faces challenge to fit new signings in Man United team
Manchester United legend Paul Scholes says Louis van Gaal faces a challenge fitting summer signings into his line-up
Louis van Gaal is facing a challenge to fit all his new signings into his Manchester United side, according to Paul Scholes.
The Red Devils signed Angel di Maria in a British-record £59.7m fee from Real Madrid last month, before snapping up Daley Blind and Radamel Falcao on deadline day.
Ed Woodward has done his job brilliantly during this transfer window with some great signings
Earlier in the transfer window, United landed Southampton teenager Luke Shaw, Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera and Argentina international Marcos Rojo.
And United legend Scholes heaped praise on much-maligned Red Devils chief executive Ed Woodward for landing the big-name signings.
“It is yeah, but it’s not a bad problem to have,” Scholes told United’s website.
“Fans have been moaning about the type of players that were at the club and now you can’t do that.
“I think Ed Woodward has done his job brilliantly during this transfer window with some great signings.
“Now it is over to the manager to sort everything out and make us a good team again.”
