Mauricio Pochettino could not hide his disappointment after seeing his Tottenham Hotspur side held to a draw by Sunderland.

Nacer Chadli fired the home side ahead in the second minute at White Hart Lane, but Adam Johnson equalised moments later with a superb solo goal.

Christian Eriksen then prodded Spurs ahead soon after half-time, but Harry Kane’s own goal eight minutes from time handed the Black Cats a point.

“I’m very disappointed because we created a lot of chances and I think we deserved to win today – but this is football,” Pochettino told Sky Sports.

“We can still improve. When we analyse today we’re very disappointed because on a normal day you take the three points, with the chances that we had.”

The draw left Tottenham sixth in the Premier League table with seven points from their opening four games.
