With under two weeks until tickets go on sale next year’s Rugby World Cup, the IRB have released a rallying promotional video for the event, enlisting the acting skills of Game of Thrones star Charles Dance.

The 67-year-old English actor plays Lord Tywin Lannister in the hit television series and issues an awe-inspiring team talk in front of the rugby world’s biggest stars, including British and Irish Lions captain Sam Warburton and England lock Joe Launchbury.

Dance, addresses the players, pundits and even fans, making reference to the very common sight of members of the crowd donning lycra all-in-one ‘morph’ suits.

He urges those in the dressing room to not miss out on the World Cup, making sure they have no regrets and to “stand together to make this the greatest rugby world cup ever”.

The tournament begins next September when hosts England take on Fiji in the event’s curtain raiser at Twickenham.
