Chris Coleman has moved to play down fears about Aaron Ramsey’s fitness after the midfielder limped off during Wales’s 2-1 win over Andorra on Tuesday night.

The Arsenal midfielder appeared to hurt his ankle late on during the Euro 2016 qualifier and was replaced by Emyr Huws deep into second-half stoppage time.

However, Coleman was hopeful that the 23-year-old did not sustain anything serious enough to rule him out of Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City on Saturday.

“He twisted his ankle and got a kick,” Coleman told BBC Sport. “Hopefully he’ll be OK for Arsenal on the weekend.”

Gareth Bale scored twice to earn Wales victory in the Euro 2016 qualifier after Andorra had netted their first competitive goal since 2010 to take the lead.

Coleman’s side next face Bosnia and Herzegovina on 10 October.
