Alexis Sanchez has made an outstanding start to the Premier League campaign, according to Dwight Yorke.

The Chile international scored a goal either side of half-time at the Stadium of Light on Saturday as Arsenal were 2-0 winners against Sunderland.

Sanchez has scored five Premier League goals since his £35m move to the north London side from La Liga giants Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

And former Manchester United striker Yorke is impressed with Sanchez’s impact for Arsene Wenger.

“Arsenal and everyone who has watched world football saw what he was doing at Barcelona before he joined the club,” Yorke told Sky Sports News.

“He’s delivering week in week out. He’s really risen the occasion and he’s come in to a new environment and he’s quickly adapted to being an Arsenal player.

“He’s been outstanding. He’s that type of player with his fantastic skill and ability to play for the team, but he’s also getting in on the goals and that’s eight so far this season. That’s a terrific return.”
