Arsenal and Liverpool’s hopes of signing Iker Casillas in the January transfer window have suffered a big blow after Carlo Ancelotti insisted that the Real Madrid goalkeeper is not for sale.

Both of the Premier League clubs have been linked with the Spain international in recent weeks as they look to add competition for their first-choice shot-stoppers.

However, Los Blancos boss Ancelotti insists that the goalkeeper will not be leaving the Bernabeu.

“The matter is closed,” said Ancelotti.

“His future is here, it is part of the history of this club and in a few years, when he retires as a football player, Iker will come to this forum along with other great champions at the club to talk about all the European Cups he has won with this shirt.”
