Edinson Cavani has played down the speculation linking him with a transfer to the Premier League by insisting that he is happy at Paris Saint-Germain.

The Uruguay international has been linked with both Arsenal and Manchester United in recent weeks amid reports that he is upset at being played out of position at the Ligue 1 side.

However, the 27-year-old has now insisted that he is happy to stay in the French capital.

“We were not capable of finding another solution [in regard to his playing position],” Cavani told Uruguayan radio station AM1010.

“But there is no point to lament it or fight against the club. I feel very good here at Paris and the club supports and protects me.

“I was never against the manager, the president or anybody else. I only made my unhappiness known, to them first, but that does not mean I don’t have a normal relationship with them.”

Cavani has scored four goals in 10 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
