Artur Boruc reckons Bournemouth can provide Liverpool with an “interesting” cup clash after the Cherries drew the Reds in League Cup quarter-final draw.

The south coast club were 2-1 winners against Premier League side West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday night thanks to Calum Wilson’s 86th-minute winner at Dean Court.

However, Liverpool left it even later at Anfield as Mario Balotelli cancelled out Marvin Emnes’s opener with four minutes of normal time remaining before Dejan Lovren netted a stoppage-time winner.

While Brendan Rodgers’s side will fancy their chances of getting past the Championship side, Boruc appeared relatively content with the draw which will see Liverpool travel to Bournemouth.

Boruc wrote on Instagram: “This one will be interesting #boruc #bournemouth #liverpool #cup”

Elsewhere, Newcastle City were rewarded for their 2-0 win at holders Manchester City with a trip to Tottenham Hotspur.

Fulham’s conquerors Derby County face another west London side in the last eight in the shape of Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Finally, Sheffield United welcome Southampton to Bramall Lane, keeping alive the possibility of a derby between the Cherries and the Saints.
