Brendan Rodgers needs to bring in Divock Origi, says Liverpool legend
Liverpool legend wants Divock Origi to line up in a Reds shirt as soon as possible
Michael Owen has called on Brendan Rodgers to bring Divock Origi to Liverpool earlier than agreed with Lille.
The Belgium striker completed a £12m move to the Reds in the summer transfer window before being loaned back to the Ligue 1 side.
If I was Brendan Rodgers I would pay an extra few million and try to get Origi to the club 6 months earlier than originally agreed
However, Liverpool are suffering in the absence of injured Daniel Sturridge as £16m signing Mario Balotelli continues to struggle.
And former Reds striker Owen reckons Rodgers would be wise to pay any additional fee required to bring Origi to the club as soon as possible.
“With Sturridge out I don’t know what options Rodgers has. Sterling not a centre forward, Lambert struggling for goals and not much pace,” Owen wrote on Twitter.
“Just highlights how unbelievably good Suarez was and how much Daniel Sturridge is missed.

“I’d still start Balotelli at the weekend. I’m not a big fan of his but he has more class than most. Harsh to put all the blame on him.”
Origi has scored three goals and made an assist in eight Ligue 1 appearances this season.
