Jose Mourinho admits that Chelsea are “in trouble” due to their mounting injury problems.

Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Ramires are among those currently sidelined ahead of the Blues’ trip to Shrewsbury Town in the League Cup fourth round on Tuesday night.

And Mourinho, whose side sealed a 1-1 draw at Manchester United on Sunday, revealed that the likes of Andre Schurrle, Mohamed Salah and John Obi Mikel are set to feature in the cup clash.

“We are in trouble because we have so many injured players,” said Mourinho.

“The players who didn’t play at Manchester United – Schurrle, Salah, [Kurt] Zouma, [Nathan] Ake and Mikel – are obviously going to play.

“After that I have to play with players that played the game against Man United.”
