Cristiano Ronaldo hailed a “big moment” in his career after winning the top awards at La Liga’s annual gala on Monday night.

The Portugal and Real Madrid star won the player of the year award and also bagged trophies for best striker and best goal, for his back-heel against Valencia.

Ronaldo was the top scorer in La Liga for the 2013-14 season with 31 goals and also won the 2013 Fifa Ballon d’Or award ahead of Lionel Messi.

Ronaldo posted on Facebook on Tuesday morning: “This is a big moment in my career.

“Last night I won the awards for Best Forward, Best Goal and Best Player in La Liga in 2013-14 and that makes me very happy. Thank you all.”

The 29-year-old also won the Uefa Best Player in Europe award back in August.
