Danny Welbeck says it is a pleasure to play alongside Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez.

The Chile international scored either side of half-time to help Arsenal seal a 2-0 victory over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

I’m really getting to know the players much better now and hopefully now we can go on a nice run of winning games

And Welbeck is hoping the north London side can go on a winning streak after moving up to fifth in the Premier League table.

“The boss told us before the game to press their back four and try to force mistakes. The first goal came from that, so it was something that worked quite well today,” Welbeck told Arsenal’s website.

“It’s a pleasure to play with Alexis. He’s persistent, he keeps going and they are [the attributes of] somebody I like to play alongside.

“It’s the same with all the other players in the team. I’m really getting to know the players much better now and hopefully now we can go on a nice run of winning games.

“We’ve had two away games and got two wins. We’ve set the platform now and the main thing is to build on that. We showed character and we’re going to have to stick it out when it gets tough and nitty gritty in the next games.”

Sanchez has scored five Premier League goal following his £35m move to Arsenal in the summer.
