Former Barcelona star set to begin training with Man United
Victor Valdes is set to train with Manchester United in the coming weeks, the Premier League club has confirmed
Victor Valdes is to train with Manchester United as the former Barcelona goalkeeper works on his fitness during his recovery from a knee injury.
The Spaniard, currently a free agent after leaving Camp Nou in the summer, has been offered the chance to link up with the Red Devils as he continues his rehabilitation.
A United statement read: “Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has offered the 32-year-old former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes a chance to complete his rehabilitation from a knee injury and to work his way back to fitness with the club.
“Valdes, a free agent, will have his recovery supervised by the United medical staff before training with the first team, as he bids to regain full fitness.”
Valdes has been linked with a transfer to Liverpool in recent weeks, and it is not clear if United intend to offer the shot-stopper a contract.
The 32-year-old has been out of action since suffering a knee ligament injury back in March.
